After booking, we’ll ask for a few photos of your existing consumer unit, meter and surrounding area. This allows us to confirm that your installation is covered by the standard price. Most homes will be.

If anything additional is required, we’ll explain the option clearly and agree the cost with you before any extra work is carried out.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does installation take?

Most standard consumer unit replacements are completed within one working day. Larger installations or properties with additional consumer units may take longer, but we’ll confirm this beforehand.

Is everything included?

Your standard package includes the new consumer unit, individual RCBO protection, surge protection, installation, labelling, full testing and electrical certification. If we identify non-standard requirements or existing faults, these will be explained and priced separately before any additional work is completed.

Will I receive certification?

Yes. You’ll receive an Electrical Installation Certificate following the work, together with Building Regulations notification where required.

Will my power be off?

Yes. Your electricity will need to be switched off for much of the installation. We’ll let you know before disconnecting the supply and aim to keep disruption to a minimum.

Can you replace old fuse boards?

Yes. We can replace older fuse boards and consumer units with a modern unit providing individual RCBO protection and surge protection.

What happens if pre-existing faults are found?

We’ll explain the problem clearly and discuss the available options with you. No additional chargeable work will be completed without your approval.

What if my property has an Economy 7 or off-peak consumer unit?

Properties with Economy 7, storage heaters or a separate off-peak supply may require an additional consumer unit or extra work. We’ll check this before installation and provide a clear price for anything outside the standard package.
